About Me

My goal is to help students find themselves in music by guiding them to explore their instrument to find their own approach and voice through the guitar.

Music has always been important to me, some of my earliest memories are of listening to Jimi Hendrix, Elvis & Queen as a child. I asked for an electric guitar for my 10th birthday and haven’t looked back since!

Taking guitar lessons, starting a band & performing through my high school years lead me into music college. Where I began teaching other students during my time between lessons. Teaching came about very naturally after my friends & peers began asking how I played the way I did. I was still learning the instrument myself, but teaching helped me explore the concepts I was still studying myself.

Answering students questions and watching their own unique approaches inspired me. It provided points of view I hadn’t considered, so teaching helped my students while offering me a very open-minded and thorough approach to learning music.

Now with decades of experience under my belt, I continue to teach and offer my students the same open-minded approach I took. I understand everyone is unique and I firmly believe just because you do something differently doesn’t make it wrong,  I will advise if your approach is holding you back and preventing your progression, but in my opinion any approach that gets the job done should be celebrated, because embracing their natural & unique approach offers students the freedom to develop their own style and above-all embracing self-expression & character is really what good music & art is about!
